Diagnostic & Therapeutic Injections

Epidural Steroid Injections

A targeted injection of anti-inflammatory medication into the epidural space to calm irritated nerve roots and reduce radiating pain.

Peripheral Nerve Blocks

Precise anesthetic injections around a specific peripheral nerve, used both to diagnose a pain generator and to provide therapeutic relief.

Sacroiliac Joint (SI Joint) Injection

An image-guided injection into the sacroiliac joint, used both to confirm the joint as a pain generator and, often, to provide direct therapeutic relief.

Sympathetic Nerve Blocks

Injections targeting the sympathetic nerve chain to interrupt abnormal pain signaling, most often used in CRPS and other nerve-mediated pain conditions.

Radiofrequency & Nerve Ablation

Medial Branch Blocks (MBB) & Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

A two-step approach: diagnostic blocks confirm the facet joint as the pain source, then radiofrequency energy disables the small nerves carrying that pain signal for extended relief.

Peripheral Nerve Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation applied to a specific peripheral nerve outside the spine, providing longer-lasting relief than a diagnostic block alone for a confirmed peripheral nerve pain generator — distinct from medial branch RFA (spine-focused) and from peripheral nerve blocks (primarily diagnostic and short-term).

Basivertebral Nerve Ablation (Intracept)

A minimally invasive procedure that ablates the basivertebral nerve inside the vertebral body, directly addressing vertebrogenic pain at its source.

Vertebral Augmentation

Kyphoplasty

A procedure to stabilize and restore height to a fractured vertebra using a balloon and bone cement, often providing rapid pain relief after compression fractures.

SpineJack

An implantable titanium vertebral augmentation system used as an alternative to balloon kyphoplasty, mechanically restoring vertebral height before cement is added to stabilize the fracture.

Sacroplasty

A cement augmentation procedure using the same principle as kyphoplasty, applied specifically to stabilize sacral insufficiency fractures and relieve the pain of a fractured sacrum.

Neuromodulation

Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)

An implantable device that delivers mild electrical signals to the spinal cord, interrupting pain signals before they reach the brain — a reversible, adjustable option for chronic pain.

Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulation

A targeted form of neuromodulation directed at the dorsal root ganglion, particularly effective for focal pain such as CRPS affecting the foot, knee, or groin.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

A small stimulation lead placed directly along a peripheral nerve to treat focal, well-localized nerve pain without the need for spinal placement.

Restorative Neuromodulation (ReActiv8)

An implantable device that stimulates the nerve controlling the deep stabilizing muscles of the low back, restoring neuromuscular control rather than masking pain signals — a fundamentally different mechanism from traditional spinal cord stimulation.

Intrathecal Pain Pumps

An implantable pump that delivers medication directly to the spinal fluid, achieving pain control at a fraction of the systemic dose and side-effect burden of oral medication.

Minimally Invasive Spine Procedures

MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression)

A minimally invasive procedure that removes small pieces of excess tissue and bone to decompress the spinal canal in patients with stenosis, without implants or open surgery.

Interspinous Spacers

Small implants (including Vertiflex/Superion and Minuteman systems) placed between spinous processes to maintain space and relieve stenosis-related nerve compression during standing and walking.

Sacroiliac Joint (SI Joint) Fusion

A minimally invasive procedure to stabilize a painful, dysfunctional sacroiliac joint using small implants placed across the joint, for patients who have failed conservative and injection-based care.
